Systems Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION – SYSTEMS ENGINEER
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION EFFECTIVELY:
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in a team of engineers and biologists to design, assemble and test complex electrical, mechanical, and optical systems
- Own the system design and drive automation algorithm development
- Regularly communicate tradeoffs, program risks, and technical progress to management
- Take initiative and act quickly to find solutions
- Troubleshoot and document how and why problems occur in system level testing
- Develop, execute and document test protocols
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation regarding quality, work in progress, and test results
- Work with a team of engineers to resolve production problems and suggest improvements
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years in engineering working with complex electromechanical or optical systems in a product development environment
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Associate Degree with additional experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical or Optical Engineering
- Ability to self-organize and work effectively with and without direct supervision
- Ability to define, document and validate procedures and test results
- Experience with system level verification & validation
- Experience with the development of sub-assemblies and integration into complex systems
- Experience with Solidworks, Altium or Zemax is a plus
